Why did I create this site?
I'm Lyndon Reid and this is Car Deal Tracker.
Over the years, I've bought a number of vehicles and I have helped other do the same. I've always HATED the everything about the process. I won't go on and on here. You can read about how broken I think the car buying experience in other posts on the site.
My goal is simple. I want to ensure car buyers do not get ripped off by shady car salesmen.
Unfortunately, it is complicated and there is a lot more to it than agreeing on a price.
Car Deal Tracker
Tracks manufacturer offers, incentives, and rebates. This is important because it's by far the easiest way to save a significant amount of money on your next vehicle purchase.
Car Deal Tracker will let you know if the current dealer incentives are competitive with what has been offered in the past. We also provide all sorts of buying guides and tips that will prepare you to deal with the salesperson and the finance manager.
How was this site born?
I had to create my own website for school. And, I knew what I wanted to create.
Thanks to Covid, I was locked at home for a few months. I decided to enroll in some online courses. One of the courses I took was Harvard's CS50 (it’s 100% free, incredibly awesome, but brutally hard by the way) where I had to create a Web application for my final project - Car Deal Tracker was born!
A little more about me
I am married with two kids. We recently bought a new truck - a GMC Sierra (which we got an awesome deal on). We use it to haul bicyles and canoes out to the lake where we are we spend our summer months camping and exploring the outdoors. We spend out winter months in hockey rink and at indoor soccer facilities coaching and cheering on our little ones.
